<Wednesday, 30th December 2009>

I spent Christmas Day working in a residential home in Hampshire UK, cooking for 34 old folk and washing up half a million dishes.
Happy Xmas & New Year 2010 everyone !!
My Favorite Christmas Presents were:
1) Shoes for walking in
2) A bright blue watch, so i have no excuse for being too early
3) Rage Against The Machine's song 'Killing in the Name Of' beating Simon Cowell's X-Factor Schlager to the top of the UK music chart!

Walking in my shoes.
There is a generation made wise by the internet, who build upon a lifetime of books and primary research,
and who use computers to heighten knowledge and follow the pathway of their interests;
and then there is a generation left dumb by the internet, who use nothing but it,
who don't know what else to look at, or what keywords to follow.

Today i am in Sweden, cutting at the Swedish School of Textiles in Borås.
Emptying thought bubbles.
I'm trying to go on FaceBook only on Wednesdays. I need more space and time to think and make stuff.
I've also shaved off my hair to streamline my head.
I love washing up.

Everything seems to start with a problem.
A problem i must solve, a problem i must overcome, or a problem i must create.
Survival Kit.
When i was a kid i was given an Action Man 'Survival Kit' by my mum and dad as a Christmas present.
However i didn't actually have an action man figure, so instead had to play with the miniature accessories and empty garments without one.
I learned that without a doll or mannequin, the hollow garments could play and survive alone.

5 Meter DeMontford Plug
This week i was cutting at DeMontford University in Leicester UK, and managed to demonstrate three different techniques of cutting in one fast-paced session.
Breaking with habit i started with the 'Plug' technique, working backwards until i reached the 'Tunnel' technique.

You don't need to & shouldn't ever be
EXPERT in existing theory,
in 'the story so far'.
If you wish to lay down your own quite unique version of events:
just ignore e v e r y t h i n g .

A lot of the images assembled above came from Google or somewhere, and are the copyright of their original owner. But their assembly together is very much my own doing, it's difficult to say really where creative ownership begins & ends, i'm certainly not averse to creative trespass. So no reproduction without permission, unless you're feeling subversive, punk.
